Security Update: A Login Code for New Devices, Now Also in the Philippines

Starting September 18, 2026, when you sign in to SeriousMD on the web from a device you have not added as a trusted device in your account settings, we will email a one-time code to the address on your account.

Until now this only happened for logins from outside the Philippines. It now happens on even local logins.

Why: with the recent news of AI running through some websites trying to login, we also saw a few automated login attempts on SeriousMD using email-and-password combinations leaked from other public databases.

A code that only reaches your inbox stops that, even when the password is right.

The cost to you is one code per device.

• Trust your own devices. After you enter the code, go to Settings > Security > Trusted Devices and trust your laptop, phone and tablet. They will not be asked again on that browser. Do not trust a shared computer or device.

• Turn on two-factor authentication. Settings > Security > Login and Security > Configure. It is the one step that makes a leaked password useless on its own.

• Change your password if you use it anywhere else. Facebook, Gmail, Lazada: if it is the same password, change the SeriousMD one today.
• Check your email on haveibeenpwned.com. Free, and it tells you which leaks your address has been in.

The iOS app is not affected. This will also be applicable to sub-user accounts.
